A BTC ATM robbery was recently committed on Tuesday at a Simply Delicious Food Market in Vernon, Canada. Two thieves broken in and stole around CAD 4,000 (USD 3,010). The thieves broke the glass doors and went straight for the BTC ATM, as per a statement by the market owner Troy Roland.
The machine is terribly broken since the two men were making attempts to open it with full force.
The guys took two canisters worth around USD 4,000 but there was a third one which held around CAD 50,000 (USD 37,600).
The funny side is that even though the police didn’t catch them, the robbing duo left many evidence and traces of them on security cameras. There is an ongoing investigation around their appearance, their vehicle and license plate.
The market owner stated that the Bitcoin ATM will be removed from the store due to these recent events.
This is a pure example of crypto adoption gone wrong and another good initiative disrupted thanks to society.
However, this is not the only crypto ATM robbery this year. In August two men went to a mall in Lynnwood, USA and just before closing time, they went out with a Bitcoin ATM.
